CIW exams


How CIW Exams work

  • CIW exams are completed at home or work, at a time that suits you, using a proctored (supervised) exam. Your webcam is used to supervise you during the exam.
  • To book an exam click here to find your CIW test and complete the exam booking.
  • You must accept the CIW testing agreement which covers plagiarism, retakes, personal data and other policies relating to the exam.
  • As of March 2023, CIW exams cost $150 per exam.
  • There are specific technical and other requirements to complete the exam, and these are listed below.

Requirements to complete the online exam

  • Stable, high speed internet connection.
  • Operating system:
    • Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (Not “10s” or “10 in s mode”)
    • macOS X 10.14.1 and higher
  • Web camera and microphone must be connected and functioning for entire duration of the exam.
  • Touch screens and dual monitors are not permitted.
  • Browser: A current version of Chrome or other Chromium based browser is best. Further, a secure lockdown browser will be installed when you check in. Chromebooks, tablets, and mobile phones are not compatible and cannot be used as they do not allow you to share your screen with a proctor (supervisor).
  • Browser cookies must be accepted when starting an exam.
  • A valid email address: When you create an account in the PSI system, you will be asked for an email address. Several confirmation messages will be sent to the address you provide, along with your exam results afterwards. These messages contain useful, important information.
  • Quiet, undisturbed location such as an office or private room.
  • Clean location: All unneeded materials must be removed from the area, including books, reference materials, paper/pens, mobile phones, extra monitors, computers, radios, electronic devices, food and other clutter.
  • Good lighting: The remote proctor (supervisor) will be watching you via the web camera during the exam. You must be clearly visible at all times.

CompTIA exams


How CompTIA Exams work

  • CompTIA Exams can be booked and taken via an online proctored exam with online exam specialists Pearson Vue.
  • To book an exam click here to check system requirements and schedule your exam.
  • Candidates will be required to agree to the CompTIA testing agreement which covers confidentiality, retakes, appeals and other policies relating to the exam. It is advised to read this before booking your exam.
  • Exams are computer-based. Questions will use some or all of the following formats depending on the specific certification being taken: Multiple choice (single and multiple responses), drag and drops and performance-based.

Project Management Professional (PMP) exams


How the PMP Exam works

  • To gain the Project Management Professional (PMP)® credential, candidates need to meet the experience and education requirements and pass the PMP® examination.
  • The PMP exam is a 180-question, multiple-choice test with a duration of 230 minutes.
  • Candidates must first make an application to the Project Management Institute confirming they have met the requirements. Candidates can apply by clicking here.
  • If eligible, PMI will e-mail examination scheduling instructions with an eligibility code, which candidates will need when scheduling their exam appointment.
  • Exams are scheduled with a Pearson Vue testing centre. Click here to search for exam centres. There is an online proctored version of this exam available.
  • As at March 2023, the PMP application costs $555 and is payable on application to the Project Management Institute.

PMP Prerequisites

Candidates must meet one of the following:

  • A secondary degree (high school diploma, associate’s degree or the global equivalent), 7,500 hours leading and directing projects and 35 hours of project management education.
  • A four-year degree, 4,500 hours leading and directing projects and 35 hours of project management education

Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) exams


How the CAPM Exam works

  • To gain the Certified Associate in Project management (CAPM)® credential, candidates need to meet the experience and education requirements and pass the CAPM® examination.
  • The CAPM exam is a 150-question, multiple-choice test with a duration of 3 hours.
  • Candidates must first make an application to the Project Management Institute confirming they have met the requirements. Candidates can apply by clicking here.
  • If eligible, PMI will e-mail examination scheduling instructions with an eligibility code, which candidates will need when scheduling their exam appointment.

  • As at March 2023, the CAPM application costs $300 and is payable on application to the Project Management Institute.

CAPM Prerequisites

Candidates must meet one of the following:

  • A secondary degree (high school diploma, associate’s degree or the global equivalent).
  • 23 hours of project management education completed by the time you sit for the exam.

Risk Management Professional (RMP) exams


How the RMP Exam works

  • To gain the Project Management Professional (RMP)® credential, candidates need to meet the experience and education requirements and pass the RMP® examination.
  • The RMP exam is a 170-question, multiple-choice test with a duration of 3.5 hours.
  • Candidates must first make an application to the Project Management Institute confirming they have met the requirements. Candidates can apply by clicking here.
  • If eligible, PMI will e-mail examination scheduling instructions with an eligibility code, which candidates will need when scheduling their exam appointment.

RMP Prerequisites

Candidates must meet one of the following:

  • A secondary degree (high school diploma, associate’s degree or the global equivalent), 4,500 hours of project risk management experience and 35 hours of project management education.
  • A four-year degree, 3,000 hours of project risk management experience and 35 hours of project management education.

Prince2® Foundation and Practitioner exams


How the Prince2® Exams work

  • To gain the Prince2® Practitioner certification candidates must complete the Prince2® Foundation and the Prince2® Practitioner exams. These exams are booked and taken separately. The foundation is an eligibility requirement to complete the practitioner exam.
  • Candidates can take the Prince2® exams online at any time through PeopleCert who are an authorised Prince2® exam provider. Click here for details.
  • The exams can be completed at home or work, at a time that suits you, using a proctored (supervised) online exam. A webcam is used to supervise candidates during the exam.
  • The foundation exam is a 60-minute closed book exam with 60 questions. The practitioner exam is a 150-minute open book exam (official Prince2 manual only) with 68 questions.
  • As at March 2023, the Prince2® Foundation exam costs £472.85 and the Prince2® Practitioner exam costs £521.46 with PeopleCert.

EXIN Cloud Computing Foundation exams


How EXIN Exams work

  • The EXIN Cloud Computing Foundation exam is completed at home or work, at a time that suits you, using a proctored (supervised) online exam. Candidates can choose between video or live proctoring. In the case of video proctoring, a recording will be made to objectively judge their exam performance after the candidate has taken it. With live proctoring, a proctor monitors the candidate in real-time.
  • The exam consists of 40 multiple choice questions in which candidates have 60 minutes to answer.

  • As at March 2023, the EXIN Cloud Computing Foundation exam costs £223.20.

CCSK – Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge exams


How the CCSK exam works

  • The CCSK exam is completed online at home or work, at a time that suits you.
  • The examination consists of 60 multiple choice questions and must be completed within 90 minutes. It is not possible to pause or stop the test once started, so candidates need to plan for 90 minutes of uninterrupted time to take the online text.

  • As at March 2023, the CCSK examination costs $395 USD. This entitles the candidate to attempt the test up to two times.

CCSK Certification

  • Once registered you can take the exam. The results of the exam are instant.
  • If you have passed, you will be able to download your CCSK certificate from your online profile.

Six Sigma Black Belt Certification (CSSBB) exams


How the Six Sigma Black Belt Certification works

  • To gain the Six Sigma Black Belt Certification candidates must first make an application for approval to ASQ.
  • The details and application requirements can be found by clicking here.
  • Once you have applied and been approved by ASQ, the examination scheduling instructions in your eligibility letter will direct you to a section of Prometric’s website, where you can select and schedule your examination appointment and location.
  • The exam is computer-based. It comprises 165-questions, and the duration is four and a half hours.
  • As at March 2023, the Six Sigma application costs $568 (for non-members) and is payable on application to ASQ.

Six Sigma Black Belt Prerequisite overview

  • Six Sigma Black Belt requires two completed projects with signed affidavits or one completed project with a signed affidavit and three years of work experience in one or more areas of the Six Sigma Body of Knowledge.

  • You do not need to be a Certified Six Sigma Green Belt.
  • Work experience must be in a full time, paid role. Paid intern, co-op or any other course work cannot be applied towards the work experience requirement.

Six Sigma Green Belt Prerequisite overview

  • Six Sigma Green Belts are employees who spend some of their time on process improvement teams. They analyse and solve quality problems, and are involved with Six Sigma, Lean or other quality improvement projects.
  • The Six Sigma Green Belt certification requires three years of work experience in one or more areas of the Six Sigma Green Belt Body of Knowledge.
  • Candidates must have worked in a full-time, paid role. Paid intern, co-op or any other course work cannot be applied toward the work experience requirement.

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP Certification) exams


How the CISSP Certification works

  • To gain the CISSP certification candidates must meet the eligibility requirements and pass the CISSP exam.
  • CISSP Exams are booked and taken in an approved testing centre booked through exam specialists Pearson Vue. Click here to locate a text centre or book an exam.
  • The exam is computer-based. It comprises 100-150 multiple choice or scenario-based items with more than one multiple choice.
  • As at March 2023, the Six Sigma application costs £585 and is payable when booking the exam.

CISSP Prerequisite overview

  • Before booking your exam, you should confirm you meet the general eligibility requirements for (ISC)2 certification.
  • To qualify specifically for the CISSP certification, you must pass the exam and have at least five years of cumulative, paid work experience in two or more of the eight domains of the (ISC)² CISSP Common Body of Knowledge (CBK). Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) exams


How the CISA Certification works

  • To gain the CISA certification candidates must meet the eligibility requirements and pass the CISA exam.
  • CISA Exams are booked and taken either in an approved testing centre or online. Click here for details. The exam is computer-based. It comprises 150 multiple choice questions, and candidates have four hours to complete the exam.
  • As at March 2023, the exam fee is $760 (non-members) and is payable when booking the exam.

CISM Prerequisite overview

  • Applicants will be required to confirm they have a minimum of five years of information security work experience, with a minimum of three years of information security management work experience in three or more of the job practise analysis areas. The work experience must be gained within the 10 years preceding the application date for certification or within 5 years from the date of originally passing the exam.
  • Applicants may be entitled to work experience waivers based on educational qualifications or previous certifications. For exams, CISA certification holders may use this as a waiver towards two years of security work experience. Learn more about CISM Requirements.
